For its winter concert, Ensemble Enarmonia welcomes back Maestro Stephen Kramer to the podium, in a programme that weaves together lightness, vocal virtuosity and grand symphonic writing.
The evening opens with Otto Nicolai’s Overture to “The Merry Wives of Windsor”, a brilliant, sparkling piece that sets the tone with wit and irony, recalling the lively atmosphere of the Shakespearean comedy on which it is based.
Next comes Mozart’s concert aria “Vorrei spiegarvi, oh Dio”, K. 418, a work of rare expressive intensity for solo voice, in which the composer blends melodic elegance with emotional depth.
The evening closes with Brahms’s Symphony No. 2 in D major, Op. 73, often called his “pastoral” symphony for the brightness and warmth that run through it: a serene and passionate orchestral fresco, among the most beloved works of the Romantic symphonic repertoire.
The concert dates are: December 5th at Teatro Palladium in Rome and December 12th at the Aula della Cultura in Città della Pieve.
